How Much Does MT5 Server Setup Cost for a Broker? (2026 Breakdown)

What an MT5 server costs a broker in 2026: licence, hosting, setup, migration, bridge, datafeeds and support, with relioops' prices ($999 setup).

Server racks in a data centre

"How much does an MT5 server cost?" has no single answer, because the server is not one purchase. A broker running MetaTrader 5 pays several parties: MetaQuotes or a licence holder for the platform, a data centre or cloud provider for the machines, a bridge vendor and liquidity providers for execution, data vendors for prices and news, and someone to build the environment and keep it running.

This guide breaks the bill into those parts, says who charges for each, and gives our own published prices for the part we do. It does not quote other companies' prices. MetaQuotes does not publish a price list for broker licences, and the ranges you find online are estimates that vary widely. The only reliable figures are written quotes for your setup.

The short answer

  • Platform licence: paid to MetaQuotes (own licence) or to the licence holder (white label). Not published; quoted per broker.
  • Servers and data centre: paid to a hosting, colocation or cloud provider. Depends on the number of servers, the locations and whether you run a disaster-recovery site.
  • Setup: building and configuring the environment. relioops charges $999 one-time per location for a new MT4 or MT5 server, and $1,500 per location to migrate an existing one.
  • Ongoing management and 24/7 support: relioops charges $1,999 a month.
  • Bridge, liquidity, datafeeds and news: paid to the respective vendors, usually monthly.
  • Not in this list: regulatory capital, licensing and legal costs, which are a separate budget.

1. The MetaTrader 5 licence

MetaTrader 5 is licensed by MetaQuotes. There are two common routes:

  • Own licence. The broker licenses the MT5 server software from MetaQuotes and runs it on its own infrastructure. MetaQuotes states that the platform "is deployed on your own infrastructure" and that it "does not provide SaaS solutions". You control the servers, the configuration and the data.
  • White label. Your brand runs on a platform that another company hosts and holds the licence for, and you do not operate the trade server yourself. MetaQuotes states that MT5 "supports White Label licensing". What you control depends on the licence holder's terms. We cover this route in what an MT5 white label actually costs.

The rest of this guide is about the own-licence route, where you run your own server and every line below applies in full.

MetaQuotes describes its licensing as flexible across business models and volumes, and does not publish prices. Ask for a written quote, and ask what is included: number of trade and access servers, modules, the Manager and Gateway APIs, and the term of the licence.

2. Servers, hosting and the data centre

An MT5 environment is more than one machine. A production setup usually has a trade server, access servers placed near your clients, history and backup services, a demo environment kept apart from live, and a disaster-recovery environment in a second location.

What drives this cost:

  • Number of servers and how they are sized for your expected accounts, symbols and history.
  • Locations. Trade servers sit close to liquidity providers; access servers sit close to clients. MetaTrader servers run on Windows Server, on dedicated hardware or cloud virtual machines.
  • Disaster recovery. A second site means a second set of servers and connectivity, and is the part brokers most often regret skipping.
  • Protection. Network-level DDoS protection, firewalls and private connectivity to LPs.
  • Where the regulator expects data to sit. Some licences make the location a compliance question, not just a latency one.

This bill goes to the hosting, colocation or cloud provider, not to relioops. We run environments in twelve locations across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and North America, Dubai included, and size the infrastructure with you before anything is ordered.

3. Setting up the server

Setup turns a licence and some machines into a working trading environment: server deployment, groups, symbols and sessions, access servers, the connection to your bridge or gateway, testing, go-live and a documented handover.

relioops charges $999 one-time for a new MT4 or MT5 server in one location. A second location, such as a disaster-recovery site, is another $999. MT4 or MT5 makes no difference to the price. The setup covers:

  • server deployment and data-centre placement
  • groups, symbols and trading sessions
  • access servers
  • the bridge and gateway connection
  • go-live and handover

The licence, the servers themselves and third-party vendor fees are not included.

4. Migrating an existing MT4 or MT5 server

If you already run MT4 or MT5 and want it moved to another data centre or onto your own infrastructure, that is a migration rather than a new build: accounts, groups, symbols, open positions and history move with the environment, the cutover is rehearsed with a rollback path, and the result is checked against the previous environment.

relioops charges $1,500 one-time per location for a migration, and $1,500 for a second location if you want one. See MT4 and MT5 server setup, hosting and migration.

5. Running it: management and 24/7 support

After go-live, someone has to keep the platform in order: groups and leverage changes, symbol and session maintenance, plugin updates, Windows and MT5 updates checked for compatibility, backups that are actually restored in tests, monitoring, and an engineer who answers at 3 a.m. on a Sunday when something affects trading.

relioops charges $1,999 a month for MetaTrader support: 24/7 monitoring and alerting, named technical contacts, incident escalation, updates and maintenance, and management of the servers, network and backups. Engineers work 24/7/365 in English, Turkish, Arabic and Russian.

If you also need a broker CRM and client portal, CRM + MetaTrader support is $2,999 a month. The full package, with the CRM, the risk tool and MetaTrader support on one contract, is $4,449 a month. All prices are on our pricing page.

6. Liquidity bridge and liquidity providers

An MT5 server does not reach the market on its own. Orders go through a gateway or bridge to your liquidity providers. Bridge vendors such as PrimeXM, oneZero, Centroid, Gold-i and FXCubic charge their own fees, mostly on request, and liquidity providers have their own commercial terms and minimums.

We set up and support the bridge you choose, and connect it to the MT5 server as part of the setup above; the vendor's licence fee is paid to the vendor. For a comparison of the main bridges, see liquidity bridge providers compared.

7. Datafeeds, news and other services

Price feeds for the symbols you offer, an economic news feed in the terminal, plugins for risk, copy trading or reporting, and KYC and payment providers each come with their own vendor contract. None of them is part of the server price, and each is worth listing before you compare quotes, so that two offers cover the same scope.

A checklist for comparing quotes

When you put two MT5 offers side by side, check each line:

Cost line Who charges Ask
MT5 licence MetaQuotes or the white-label holder What is included, term, number of servers
Servers and data centre Hosting, colocation or cloud provider Locations, sizing, DR site, DDoS protection
Setup or migration Your integrator Price per location, what is configured and tested, handover documents
Management and support Your integrator 24/7 or office hours, response times, named contacts
Bridge Bridge vendor Fee model, hosting, A/B-book routing
Liquidity Liquidity providers Minimums, commissions, connectivity
Datafeeds and news Data vendors Symbols covered, terminal integration

A low headline price often means one of these lines has moved to another invoice. A complete quote names all seven.

Where relioops fits

relioops is not MetaQuotes and does not sell MT5 licences. We build, host and run MT4 and MT5 environments for brokers: setup for $999 per location, migration for $1,500 per location, management and 24/7 support for $1,999 a month, with the CRM, bridge setup and risk tool available on the same contract. Send us your setup (licence route, expected accounts, liquidity providers and where your clients are) and we will come back with a written scope and price.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to set up an MT5 server? The setup itself, building and configuring the environment, costs $999 one-time per location with relioops; a disaster-recovery site in a second location is another $999. The full cost of running MT5 also includes the MetaQuotes licence or white-label fee, servers and data-centre fees, the bridge and liquidity, and datafeeds, which are paid to the respective vendors and depend on your setup.

How much does it cost to migrate an MT4 or MT5 server? relioops charges $1,500 one-time per location to move an existing MT4 or MT5 environment to another data centre or onto your own infrastructure, with accounts, groups, symbols and history carried over. A second location is another $1,500.

Does MetaQuotes publish MT5 licence prices? No. MetaQuotes describes its licensing as flexible and does not publish prices on its broker page. Ranges published elsewhere are estimates.

Is a white label cheaper than an own MT5 licence? It usually costs less to start and to operate, because you are not running the server yourself. In return, you control less: groups, symbols, plugins, the bridge and where the server sits depend on the licence holder. Compare both on the full list of cost lines, not on the licence alone.

Does MetaQuotes host the MT5 server? No. MetaQuotes states that the platform is deployed on the broker's own infrastructure and that it does not provide SaaS. The servers run in a data centre or cloud you choose, managed by your team or an integrator.

What does MT5 server management cost per month? relioops charges $1,999 a month for 24/7 MetaTrader support and management. Server and data-centre fees are billed separately by the hosting provider.
