MT5 White Label Cost: What Brokers Actually Pay For
What goes into the cost of an MT5 white label launch, from platform and hosting to bridge, CRM and support, and the costs brokers tend to forget.
Ask what an MT5 white label costs and you will usually be quoted a price for the platform. That is the smallest part of the question. The real cost of launching on MT5 is everything that has to exist around the platform before the first client can fund an account.
What a white label actually is
In a white label arrangement your brand runs on a platform that another company hosts and holds the licence for. You do not operate the trade server yourself. The alternative is your own licence and your own server, where you control the environment and either run it yourself or have it run for you.
White label generally means a faster, lighter start. Your own server means more control over symbols, groups, plugins, the bridge and where the server sits, and more to build and operate. Neither is right for every brokerage. The mistake is choosing on the headline price alone.
The cost lines to ask about
- The platform: the white label fee, or the licence and its renewal terms
- Server hosting: production, demo and a disaster-recovery copy, in a location that suits your liquidity and your licence
- Bridge and gateway: connecting the platform to your liquidity and keeping that connection configured
- Liquidity: spreads and commissions are commercial terms you agree with providers, separate from the technology
- Client area and CRM: onboarding, KYC workflow, deposits and withdrawals, IB management and reporting
- Payment providers and KYC vendors: integration work, plus the providers' own fees
- Risk tooling: exposure monitoring and rules that act while positions are open
- Administration and support after go-live: someone to change groups, symbols and plugins, and to answer when something breaks
Notice that only the first line is a platform cost. Everything else is the brokerage.
The costs people forget
- Moving later. A start that works for six months and then needs a migration to your own server is a second project, with a cutover window and client communication.
- Disaster recovery. A single server with no tested restore is a cost you only discover on the day you need it.
- Administration time. Every leverage change, symbol session and plugin update takes someone's hours, whether or not it shows up on an invoice.
- The second provider. Adding a payment or KYC provider should be configuration. If every provider is a project, the cost grows with every new one.
- Reporting. If the numbers have to be assembled by hand from several systems, someone is paid to do it every month.
How to compare quotes honestly
- Ask what is included in set-up and what is charged monthly
- Ask where the servers will sit, and why that location
- Ask whether disaster recovery and monitoring are included or extra
- Ask who administers the platform after go-live, and how a change request is raised
- Ask what leaving looks like: how accounts, history and configuration are handed back
- Ask whether CRM, payments and KYC integration are part of the price or a separate project
A cheap start that needs a rebuild at month eight is not cheap. A fair comparison puts every line above next to each other, for the same scope.
Is an MT5 white label cheaper than your own licence?
It usually costs less to start, and less to operate, because you are not running the server yourself. Over time the comparison depends on your volume, how much control you need and what it would cost to move later. Compare the same scope on both sides before deciding.
How long does an MT5 white label take to launch?
The platform itself can be quicker than a full build. The timeline is usually set by everything around it: CRM, payment and KYC integration, the bridge and the compliance steps. Plan the whole chain, not the platform alone.
Can I move from white label to my own MT5 server later?
Yes, as a planned migration. Accounts, groups, symbols and history have to be moved, a cutover window agreed and clients told. It is much easier when the configuration and the client records were kept clean from the start.
Where relioops fits
relioops is the technology team around the platform. We set up, migrate and run the MetaTrader environment, connect the bridge and providers you choose, and provide the CRM, risk and integration layers around it. Each of those can be taken on its own. We are a technology provider: we do not supply liquidity and we do not hold client funds.
If you are deciding between white label and your own server, bring your numbers to a working session. We will map what each path requires, and where the cost sits, before you commit.
